One of the things I’ve always loved about q***r culture is that we’ve rarely been content to simply accept the world as it is. We’ve been pioneers, questioners, makers, and reimagines, often creating new ways of living, loving, and expressing ourselves.
I recently visited A Q***r Arcana: Art, Magic, and Spirit, an exhibition at the Palm Springs Art Museum that explores the relationship between q***r identity, spirituality, and mysticism. What struck me most was the idea that for many q***r people, imagination itself has always been a survival tool, a way to envision possibilities beyond the limitations of the present moment.
As a designer, that resonates deeply. Every creative act begins with imagining something that doesn’t yet exist. Happy Pride Month to the artists, activists, visionaries, and everyday people who continue to expand what is possible, not just for ourselves, but for the communities and generations that follow. 🌈
