Marble was selected early for our recent project in Presidio Heights and mother nature’s palettes were hugely influential in the millwork color stories.
As we worked with Sutro Architects and claytontimbrell to restore the paneling for the living room, Lindsay went on a search for an antique mantel to anchor the room. After extensive research we procured a French Breche Violet antique from Piet Jonker Architectural Antiques in the Netherlands. Its restrained modillion style (circa 1900) dates within a few years of the original construction of the Edwardian home. It is the purple, chocolate, peach and pink veining however that adds playful glamour to the room.
